Lowes, OSH, and Home Depot carry PVC tubing/joints along with various mesh materials. So far, I've found that Lowes carries a reasonable amount of plastic (rather than yards and yards and yards...) coasted mesh material which is much more gentle to an ig's snout than the usual hardware cloth.
