good advice so far! patience + consistency is the key ...

i'd underline the point that in the wild, igs are treated as food and act accordingly ~ *scared*!
it takes a while for them to realize you're *not* gonna eat them *or* hurt them ...

it helps alot to *never* pick them up from the top ... put your hand underneath them + lift like that ... iZ has taught me that if i place my hand between his back legs and support them + his tail first, he feels more secure/supported/not afraid i'm gonna drop him ... (plus, you can avoid bites more easily if you pick up the back end 1st!) ... *then* use the other hand to support the chest area ...

don't loom over him! try to be at the same level or *lower* than he is when you go over to him ...

one thing that's helped me with iZ + trimming nails is that when i first got him, i made a point of gently 'playing with' his toes for a while everytime i picked him up ... bugged the heck out of him at first, but he soon realized i wasn't *doing* anything, just playing with his toes ... it's made nail trimming *alot* easier cuz having his toes touched doesn't bother him ... much ...

how big is you ig??? + what's his name!?!?

best wishes!
