Igs can see many more colors that are not visible to us humans in the light.
eg. they can see the ultra violet light, which we cannot. But, they do seem to be "blind" to red lights, as well as a multitude of other animals.
A lot of people who keep nocturnal herps, use red lights to see them at night. They provide heat, and do not disturb the animal's sleeping pattern.

As for BLACK LIGHT, it's realy NOT ok. Black light produces 'blue' light, we cannot see it, but they sure as hell can. Although the issue is still very DEBATABLE, it is strongly advised to avoid using them, and stick with ceramics or red lights. And no, you don't leave ANY TYPE of light on 24/7, because they can:
a) get burned up faster
b) botehr the animal (duh)
& c) can become fire hazards, and a big expense on electricity bills!!!
You may do some research, but why risk it?
Take care,
Ig Joe
:)

: Is a black light going to disturb the sleep patterns of my ig if i leave it on all night and all day?
