The Ultimate Iguana Owner's Handbook, by James Hatfield III
http://www.tierraverde.com/iguana-1.htm
I have the Hatfield book and have found it to be a very valuable resource. As far as diet, most everything I've read emphasizes variety, which makes sense - if there are vitamins and minerals we don't know enough yet to know are important for igs, better to increase your chances of providing them with a varied diet. The diet I feed my ig is probably closer to the MK diet than the Iggy Den diet - this is mostly for my convenience, because I like to provide fresh food when time allows, and the vegs keep better in the frige than the leafy greens (I have noticed collard greens keep at least a week, and my iglet loves those). I feed no animal protein.
You asked about iguana leashes - I have read they can cause damage to spines, so am not planning to use a leash.
More advice: when you get your ig, take a fresh fecal sample ASAP to a herp vet to check for intestinal parasites; if the ig has them, the sooner treated, the better. Also, if you are unlucky, your new pet might have mites (mine did) - may be a good idea to give him a bath in plain lukewarm water in the sink before he goes into his new home (to drown any mites, and wash off eggs), and wait a week or two to be sure he's mite-free before putting in a lot of cage furnishings or live plants. Mites are a pain to get rid of, so I am probably overly cautious now. Anyway, best of luck with your new pet!!
