I know you are not supposed to use cedar OR pine as substrate because it is toxic to reptiles. (Why they still sell this stuff for them I do not know.) Anyway, that's why I'm wondering if it isn't safe as substrate why is pine okay as building material? Is it because it is sealed and won't "weep"? I believe I have read where you don't want to use cedar for building enclosures because it gives off fumes for a long time.
Like I said I'm not disagreeing about using it for building as I believe that it IS what most folks use.....just being curious ;O)
