Replacing the UVB bulb

I only replace the UVB bulb once a year, just before winter. That way its at its best during the winter months when there is no going outside. During the summer all reps get taken outside for natural sunlight and I don't care if the UVB bulb has lost it effectiveness. I just need it to produce light.
