Hmmm....may want to check out the Caging Forum...and see what they recommend...the Kerosene heater needs alot of ventilation...Ive read that the fumes aren't so bad once it gets going....like initial burn off....may want to go with something else like space heaters, radiated oil heaters , Flex-heat tape...che's or infared heat lamps....making sure your ig has no access to them. Some have made ventilated plywood box /enclosures to fit over floor-type heaters so that igs cant get at them must make sure that the plywood box is not so tight that it may cause a fire hazard. I know of people using these types of 'boxes' to cover radiators. My female ig's enclosure is outside on the patio....and during cold weather ...I use infared heat lamps / ches...but I cover the front of her double door wire enclosure with a large quilted 'moving' blanket that I custom sewed to fit snug around the enclosure (about $13.00 at do-it yerself hardware stores) That helps to retain the heat just fine...especially at night! Also if you've got money to burn...you may want to look into radiant heat panels...such as Pro-products puts out...pricey (shop around...other companies make em too)....last forever...won't 'burn' your reptile....real nice....I'd like to buy them a dream Ive had for a while!....Anyway...much luck to you...but I'd really check more into using the kerosene heater...I know they are ok for emergency type situations...don't know the long term effect on igs tho.
