iZ update! .... (ya know it's long + rambling!)

i'm trying to offset my 'worried sick' posts with positive ones ... *grin* ... problem is that i am *always* worried about iZ for some reason or 'nother ... *sigh* ... i'm just such a *mom*!!!

anyway ~ his appetite is back + he's actually eating breakfast *and* supper the last couple days ~ YAY! ... he ate more salad for supper tonight than i think *i* could! (ok, so i put extra oranges in it to tempt him ... it worked!)

he's having a hard time shedding his darn spikes *still* and i know it's really uncomfortable for him cuz they're just being smothered to nothing (oops, slipped into the worry mode ... sorry) ... but all in all, he's in a pretty good mood + starting to be ever-so-slightly more active in the evening (which is when he always used to roam + explore) ... but he is still pretty quiet and sometimes even 8wants* to go to bed early ... (tho that's usually when the grand-toddler is here + i can't blame him for that!)

remember how worried i was about his (back) legs??? it is truly amazing how much they've improved + that he was paralysed 4 mo ago!!!! he walks just fine and actually made it up the entire flight of stairs to go back to his room *all by himself* a few nights this week!!!! he's still lacking some muscle mass, but i'd put him at 90% of what he was before he got sick ... that dragon is quite the fighter! i tried to take pix of how scrawny he was but they didn't turn out very well ... the improvemnet just blows my mind!!!!

now i have to go re-do his room again! i'd taken down all the climbing stuff and replaced it with ramps last fall ... gotta get some climbing stuff back in there for him cuz he's using the plain wooden chair that's in his room (so i can reach his shelves) to climb on ... *"i want TOYS* humommy!"*
it's funny tho cuz he's decided that he *likes* his legs hanging off the edge of his shelf now ... and he *likes* to have one or the other leg extended at a right angle when he's basking ... i think he's showing off that he can do it if he wants to + not cuz he doesn't have a choice ... *grin*

i'm still trying to wean him off the "Special Dragon Formula" all together ... keeping a close eye on his weight cuz if it starts to drop too much, i'll be back to blending up collards + formula again ... if he keeps eating like he did tonight, weight won't be a prob tho ... he has dropped a pound but is still at a nice 10.5 pounds so humommy is happy for now ...

he's been taking *long* soaks every night, 30-45 min ... of course i try to find something in that to worry about! but am gonna chalk it up to shedding itchies and him finally deciding that he *likes* water ...

and ... he gives me nite-nite kisses every nite (salmonella be damned!) *grin*

so we're hangin' in there ... good things are happening along with worrisome ones ... but more good i think!

oh ps ... landlord just told us tonight that the city housing inspection in is 2 wks ... oh joy ... time to double + triple check everything electrical ... which is a good idea anyway *especially* in this old house ... but if i disappear it's cuz i'm cleaning like a mad woman and making sure everything is up to code ... at least houses aren't every year like apartments are ... *YECH* ...

for those who missed it, thi is the very long story of iZ + his illness(es)
