I hate to see the iguanas in the shops, it seems they are never cared for right and delicate anyway because they're so tiny. I wish I could take them all home. That's how I got my second ig. He was a return, and in bad shape. He was a year old and only a foot long total length. He had no front toes, and his back legs, pelvis, and tail were all brown and shriveled. A friend of mine at the store marked him DOA (she said they couldn't resell him anyway) and gave him to me. We all thought he'd die. Well it's been 10 months and he's over 2 feet long and healthy except he doesn't have the toes. Problem is, I need 2 cages because they're both males and are sworn enemies. One weird thing is this iguana loves ig pellets, I mean he LOVES them, even better than greens almost. I think it's the fruity smell. He's really responsive, cocks his head when you talk to him etc. I don't think igs are that hard to care for once you know how. The key is doing it right and avoiding mistakes.
