Some igs like insects and meat, some don't. I've had both. It's funny how some chase crickets etc. but others don't care at all. I even had one who liked mice, so that was his protein about once a month. The latest info I've seen is animal protein 10-15% of a juvenile's diet and only 5% of an adult's. Watch for pesticides, though, and consider an occasional cricket or mealworm if he wants it.
