Pretty much everyone on the forum agrees that there are too many iguanas out there and they are not being taken care of properly-- and dying in and out of pet stores. We have enough unwanted and rescues out there now... if this discourages pet stores from carrying them and people buying them for their kids-- I say "HOORAY...WHAT A BONUS!)

: I agree with you. But as you said, reptiles can be very safe if some measures are taken... You wash carefully, clean your hands, don't let the young children pet them everyday... But why are you taking all this measures???? Because you KNOW that there is a risk about salmonella and you want to prevent it, wich is perfectly normal. Sadly, most people don't know that a cute tiny anolis ccan carry salmonella... So what could be wrong with making sure they know it before they live the pet store? 'Cause that's all the regulation is about... Informations... If this could help us and our animals being healthier, I don't see what's the problem...

: And I don't see why informations about always carefully cook your chicken, or never use the knife you used to cut the uncooked chicken to cut something else before washing it should circulate (Well, here in Canada, they are...) and not informations about "always wash your hands after holding a reptiles, etc" shouldn't...

:
: I just love herps way too much to take the risk of losing the right to have some living with me just because of a few people who didn't knew that their baby
: wasn't suppose to take is bath with the turtle!

:
: Knowledge can't hurt, ignorance can.
