We only use melamine in all of our enclosures for several reasons:

1. It is extremely easy to clean and disinfect - the plastic coating prevents all fluids from soaking into the wood and causing bacteria, odor, staining problems.

2. The iguanas will not injure or tear out their claws if they scratch the walls.

3. It can easily withstand the weight of such large enclosures and glass without the use of heavy framing.
