Laura....Here's the link to ARAV...herp vets only lists names & addresses not phone numbers...need directory assistance, cuz...sounds like you WILL need a vet eventually...Are you sure that this is not a horn? I can't picture the exact location of it (got a pic?) and how old your ig is...If you are SURE it isn't a horn, I myself would open it up and have a looksie...e-mail me if you want, I'll tell ya how.....this may be just a local infection and scab since you say its discolored; pink. How raised is this lump? Maybe open it up clean it out betadine, neosporin....if it doesn't heal, continues to 'grow' or you notice multiple abcesses then more than likely systemic THEN you want to consult w/ a vet and get him on a/bs... I am more & more of the mindset that vets overcharge and perscribe a/bs for EVERYTHING!even when they are NOT warranted... causing more problems (nephrotoxicities and other side effects, immunity & mutations of pathogens) than good. This also could be an idiosyncrasy(?)of your ig too!...Just thinking that Feo my male has a little pinkish 'scab'(now)sometimes it just looks a little gray or whitish that remains at the top of his head...above his left'brow'...that Ive never had looked at...the vet has never commented on it...nor have I asked... that remains on his head shed after shed after shed...At first I worried about it...putting a/b cream,anti-fungal ointments, zinc oxide, etc...but it remained! *****shrugging shoulders**** Can't describe it as a lump tho...just a weird spot! ;-)
