: Hi, peeps! Just a quick note on the two post ops kids. Igor is improving, still irrigating him daily, almost through with Baytril injections. He is getting two turkey meatballs with Cronulac & Reglan. The fact that he is passing stools around the tube in his vent is very positive.
: Cirsis got her shot today, lucky for us that she only gets 3 more before switching to oral meds. Our vet gave us high density Baytril, so rather that having to give 0.6 - 0.7 ccs IM, she only has to get 0.3 ccs, which helps when I am trying to inject and git! She nibbled on a few greens and soaked bread. She pooped a weird stool, normal urates and solids with a fair amount of pinkish/yellow custard like substance. Hmmm, maybe remains of the eggs? She crawled off the pillow when I was doing some thng else, Go saw her and started bobbing like mad, she started bobbing back, I think she still wants to mate! Yeah, as if I will allow that anytime soon!
: As far as the ingested objects go, when our vet opened her up and saw the ruptured yokes, he decided there was no way that he was going to complicate matters by opening the GI tract. It was a long operation regardless, involving flushing of the abdominal cavity with saline, (with suction, something rarely done). He described the mess as a half cooked omlette, and confessed that a few years ago it would have freaked him out. But our 2 female vets had stood over his shoulder overseeing previous ops, (Thanks Lucy and Theresa!, you are the best!), he feels that everything should be ok. Chris Griffen is one of the best herp vets ever, I cannot say enough good things about him and his collegues (Drs Lightfoot and Barlett). The staff at Avian and Animal Hospital are the most caring, goodhearted people that we have had the priviledge to know!
: Thanks for all the support!
: Dan & Sue
