Have you tried contacting Henry Lizardlover? I believe he has had extended experience with tail problems in iguanas and may be just who can help you out. Normally, I'd say "get to the vet" but I DO understand your situation + there's the fact that I've seen you around the boards for a long time so I know you aren't pulling our chain here.

Unfortunately I don't have his e-mail address down anywhere. Its alchemist something. You might try just putting his name in the address line and let your browser look. If that won't work for you, someone else here is bound to have it.

Sounds like you may be needing antibiotic therapy, however, so I hope you have a regular vet who will work with you on this. If you do, could they do a culture off one of these and see what antibiotic might be best? A lot of folks here are familiar with the good ones and those to avoid (bad side effects including death).
