I have a Water Dragon that I rescued from a horrible and slow pet store death (I know, I know - I usually don't do that). He/she is now twice the size and a groovy green. Luckily rostral damage was minimal, and the habitat he's in now has lots of plants in it, so he doesn't rub.
My question is this - he won't eat anything but Superworms. Seriously. Not crickets, not canned food, no greens, no mice, no fish. Just Superworms. He's got a UVB light right over his basking spot (less than 6 inches away), and he's not showing any sign of nutritional problems, but come on! I know it can't be the ideal diet!
I am going to try Trevo worms this week, which have a very high calcium content (highest of any commonly fed invertebrate), and hopefully because they look kind of like SW's he'll like them.
Any tricks of the trade out there? Should I force-feed him some veggie Gerber's or something?
