Hello. Just wanted to get some input from you fellow ig owners and lovers. My ig (Gwaners) started getting a little brown on his lips, around the sides of his mouth. It was hardly noticable. That started 2 weeks ago. He was fine, eating good, pooping, all that good stuff. Well, the brown started slowly getting darker, then I noticed a bit of swelling. When this started out 2 weeks ago, I went and looked for info on Mouth Rott. Just in case. Well I read it looked "cheesy". So, I thought it might not be it. Well, yesterday when I noticed the very slight swelling ( I freaked of course) and made an appointment with my igs vet. I took him in the same day, and she said it was the beggining stages of mouth rott =( I take very good care of Gwaners. He is kept in a very clean enviornment, gets natural sun, uva/uvb, and great diet. He gets baths, plenty of love and attention. I dont really know how this happened. She gave me some betadine to rub on it 3times a day for 10 days. She said the mouth rott was really minor and that should take care of it. If it doesnt, she will prescribe something for him. I just dont really know how it happened. My vet knows what kind of care I give my ig (she grilled me on the first visit) I was proud to see she approved! =) She said that even though Gwaners is kept up so well, it can happen. Just wanted to see what you thought. Yvette
