When baby was little it was so much easier to do it this way. I would clip away and he would be happy because he was up high. If I tried to pin him it was a fight for him and me. The other thing that I did when he was a little older and out grew my hand was putting him on one of the towel racks on the back of my door. He spent more time trying to hang on then he did with fighting with me. LOL By the time that he out grew the towel rack he didn't mind me trimming his nails as long as I didn't do them all a the same time. Good luck
