Okay my tubs aren't broken but my igs would rather kill than soak in them so I've had to use other methods myself *grin*
One or both of these USUALLY work around here. First, if he'll let you without stressing, try gently stroking his underside from about mid-tummy down toward the vent area. Sort of like you might rub your own tummy when it hurts. Then find a safe area where he can roam around for a bit. Walking & climbing also helps stimulate. Just in case you might want to have something handy in case he decides to go while roaming ;o)
You could try letting him walk around for a few minutes then stroke his belly and return him to enclosure and see if this does the trick.
