Lizzy is a very sound sleeper, so sometimes I clip nails while she sleeps. She never wakes up and I avoid being scratched. Other times I let her just sit on her bench/perch to clip her nails. She's comfortable that way, and I don't have to fight to hold and clip at the same time.
