This iguana is showing some life since he has had a couple of weeks of healthy food and some light. The girl that works at the school in the evenings and has been caring for the ig offered to take it home and care for it, which the teacher did not accept. He said he will start letting it out in the school courtyard, which is really just a closed-in area with rocks! It has a fish pond that is 1 1/2 feet deep, so that he could swim! I'm not sure how long the fish would live with ig poop in the water. And how long would it take the water to become completely toxic, since it can't be cleaned? We're thinking it's only a matter of days until he forgets the ig outside. We can then take it, and tell him it must have found a way out and is gone. My friend that cares for Lizzy when I have to leave her, said she could care for it on a temporary basis. It wouldn't work out that the custodian keep it, because a friend of hers dates this science teacher! Sounds like a soap opera, huh? Anyway, I talked with a school board member who was also concerned about this matter. He said not to worry about it anymore. I hope this means he's going to take care of the problem. If I do get the ig, I may need help placing it. Please let me know if anyone might be willing to help.
