I'm with Harrys Dad on the food. Have only used the commerical food (ZooMed) when I was on vacation to make it easier on the ig-sitter. I usually use greens, collard and mustard. Turnip greens, watercress, and dandelion greens are good also, just have a hard time finding them around here. I can only get dandelions in the summer from our yard before we do any weed control or fertilizer. To that you need to add other veggies...sweet potato, squash, parnips, green beans, snow peas and the list goes on. Then just a little fruit (5-10%), melon, rasberries, etc..

You don't need to feed all of these at once. Pick a couple greens and veggies, then add a small amount of fruit. You can just change them out to different items the next time your buying produce at the store.

Both links have a pre-made up diet that is considered a good basic starter diet. I use a combination between the two different diets. But either diet can get you started in feeding your ig the right foods. Then by checking the food comparison lists you can add other things.

Uses alfalfa which some igs don't like at all or only in very small amounts.

Iguana Pages - Go to "Nutrition" on the left of the page. Under Calium & Phorphorus, go to Table 2.

When looking at the food lists on the links provided what you are initially looking for is the CA(Calium) to P(Phorphorus) ratio. The calium should be at least twice as much as the phorphorus. There are other things to consider but that will give you a good start.
