Yeah..echoing what everyone else says I wouldn't mess with that stuff Debbie. Make sure if you go the Astro-turf or indoor-outdoor carpet route you get some good quality stuff. Less fraying and fragments all over. The astroturf you can cinge the ends with a lighter...if they begin to unravel once cut. Igs can eat anything! Ive heard of igs eating paper towels too. Ive been using sterile potting soil on the bottom of my enclosures for about 4 months now as recommended by the vets at LB Animal Hospital (Doug Maders old stomping grounds)...It does seem to help maintain the humidity as was suggested. Feo and Juana have licked at it...sometimes I freak because I see mud along their lips knowing theyve been down to the bottom of their cages...but so far all is well...no probs. It still looks as good as the first day I put it in too. Easier to keep clean than the indoor-outdoor panels I used to use too!. Anyway...do what works for you! Good luck on yer decision. One (I think its 25lb bag) of sterile potting soil is about $6. Its gotta be sterile! no bugs and no weeds! & NO mica! Prolly much cheaper than that lizard litter and more beneficial for em too!
