In Reply to: should i cover cage @ night? posted by jenn on August 26, 1998 at 10:09:51:
Hello. When I first got my baby ig, I noticed he wouldnt go to sleep unless the lights were off, or it was dark. In the winter I would cover his cage with a blanket, to keep in heat, and make it dark. In the summer, it has become too warm to do that at night. What I do is, I let him fall asleep with the lights off. Just the TV on. Then, when I see he is fast asleep, I am able to turn on the light, and he doesnt wake up. You can see if this works out for you and your ig. To be quite honest tho, my ig now sleeps on the window sill next to my bed. At night, it is warm enough for him. I have little blankets up there for him, just to make it soft and cozy. . Hes sooo cute, he likes to get bundled up, hides his face from the light, and goes to sleep. When I get home from work, I let him out to roam. When hes sleepy, he jumps on the window sill, gets cozy in his little blankets, and goes to sleep. He looks like a little baby. In the morning, I sometimes wake up before him, if not, hes awake, just laying lazy like in his little bed. Then, he gets up, stretches, and I put him in his cage to start another day ;) His day usually starts at 6-6:30am. Hes usually ready for bed by 8pm. Hope this helps. Yvette
