The struggling will probably stop with time-- and love and attention. The closed eye thing will probably never stop, although it will decrease in frequency. It's not neccessarily a bad thing. I guess you will feel the most successful with your taming when you can pet her at times and she will be calm while keeping her eyes open. This, I believe, means they are comfortable and possibly enjoying themselves. All of mine have seemed to enjoy having their dewlap scratched (then they can lick you too) At least they seem to tolerate this petting at length as compared to other parts of the body. Sometimes they are relaxed when they close their eyes too-- you'll be able to tell when she stops struggling so much. It may help to put her in a high safe place and pet her there where she feels comfortable. I had the same problem with my current iguana, Sleestack. He eventually felt comforable on the bathroom towel rack-- his place of choice. Now it's on top of his cage or the window sills. He's much tamer now. Good luck and keep us posted.
