Hi, Viki
This is a very normal thing. Iguanas take a long time to adjust and tame down, especially if she might have been abused in her previous home. Some iguanas never get over their complusion to run or fight, that's just their nature. Have LOTS of patience, because she doesn't sound like she's an easy sell. Spend quiet time with her, stroking her and trying to hand feed her treats. Always be calm and quiet with no sudden moves. Eventually trust will build. Good luck, sorry if this wasn't terribly helpful. Just stick with it!
:)
Best,
Jamie/JBug

: My female Ig constantly closes her eyes when I pick her up. I read on a previous post that that means she's tuning me out/pretending I'm not there. She was a rescue apprx. 10 months ago. I think she's around 2-3 yrs. of age. Is this something that will go away with more time? She's like butter in my hands when her eyes are closed - she's so sweet - but when she opens her eyes she's frightened and struggles to get away from me. Has anyone had experience with this?

: Thanks!
