Do both males and female show this sort of behavior change after reaching puberty? Or is it something that only males do?
depends on the individual ig + it's personality and it's environment ...
How can I tell which of the ig's is male or female so I can have the boy casterated before this happens?
check out these photos by Kevin at the Iguana Den ... it's not possible to tell in igs that are less than a year old with this method (or most others)...

neutering a male ig doesn't always help ease aggression if that particular ig is "prone" to aggression ... and ... not all igs get uncontrollably agressive once their adults! or ... they may become unbearably aggressive for a short time only + then relax + go back to being their sweet selves ... (iZ only gets nasty for 3-4 days during mating season and then he's fine ... during that time, he just stays in his room with his green towel) ... this leads to another point ... it's important to learn your ig's language and understand what s/he is 'saying'!!!
If they have a female housed with them, do they still show this aggression to the handler? Will they then be dangerously aggressive with other male ig's?
igs should not be housed together once they are past the 'baby' stage! the larger more dominant one willbully the smaller, possibly casued severe injuries ... igs do not like, appreciate, tolerate "roommates"!
will the aggression be absent if they have a female to "vent sexual frustration" on?
not necessarily! see above reply ... severe injuries are very possible to both igs ... a "love sock" is a much better alternative to let the igs 'vent' ... (basically it's a long green sock filled with dry rice and tied shut ...) ... rolled up green towel also works for some igs ...
Is it difficult to incubate and hatch iguana eggs?
why would you want to??
Sorry for the slew of questions, but we have three ig's at our house, and I'd hate to have the same thing happen to us as happened to that UK lady.
hey, asking questions is no prob! that's why we're here!!! ya gotta remember tho, the igs + other reptiles that make the news are usually the ones who *don't* behave themselves ... you're never gonna hear a breaking news story about the sweet-tempered, 5', 11.5 pound male ig, who snuggles with his humom and gives her kisses! (he's mine btw! *grin*)
best wishes!
