You're diet is improper for a green iguana and so I'm quite certain it is not proper for a desert iguana. You need a full spectrum tube light like a Zoomed Reptisun light and/ or natural direct sunlight. He very well could have MBD. I wouldn't hesitate to take him to the vet and also research his nutritional needs (don't know if they need protein but for the veggie side of things, you can look up some info on the site below.)
