damaged tail help!!!

i noticed just now a little kink in my iguana's tail. looking closer at it, i can see that there is a cut there! it looks like it's healing, almost like a scab! is there anything i should do? is it going to break off? will it heal fully? please help. very concerned!! thank you. - meredith
