Most managers and grocery workers don't want to put their job on the line to help someone out. It's a lot easier to say no rather than say yes and then become responsible for the consequences.

I was in the grocery business for a little over 3 years ( corporate sales )and I would say that your best bet, rather than the large chains, is to talk to the smaller natural food grocery store or the small local grocery store were you can actually talk to the owner and/or the produce manager. This will avoid some disappointment and if you shop at the smaller store ( rather than just try to get free goodies ) then the store management sees it as good PR and you both come out ahead. CW
