Much of this depends on where you live-- how cold it is. You do need a UV full spectrum light (tube not bulb) Zoomed makes some great ones, although you can get cheaper ones than that. You probably need a regular bulb for heat (unless it is very hot where you live). I live in FL and still use one (although when summer hits, this room gets a lot of sun so I'll have to monitor temps and make sure they are not cooking--may turn if off then) At night you can use a ceramic light bulb for heat or they have less expensive dark reptile bulbs. All of these things you can get reasonably priced on line (much cheaper than in pet stores). It's helpful to have stuff setup on timers (for day/night) and some people here use thermostat controllers to shut off heating/turn it on. (I think I'm going to look into that myself). Anytime you can get your iguana some unfiltered natural sunlight (not through glass) is better than anything-- but they can overheat so don't leave them in unsupervised direct sunlight (especailly if you live in hotter climates) In the summer here, I have to keep a close eye on them to notice when they start gaping and panting-- although I've rigged a fan in the past and that seems to help.
