Others have answers about the renal problem, I don't think all Ig's have renal problems by the age of 6 or 7.
Although I had males that lived to 8 years they did have renal failure.
I still have one female that is now 11 years old and going into her 12th year. She's healthy and going strong yet.
She's never been given animal protein.
Some cause's of renal failure could be genetics, like cats, some get renal failure early and some live to 21 plus years, even though they are fed the same diet.
