In Reply to: How PERMEABLE is the SKIN of an IGUANA???_(more) posted by * IGUANA JOE * on March 06, 2000 at 16:06:13:
: I know someone who, for unknown (to me) medical purposes, rubbed
: alcohol on them, but was worried if it could be absorbed, causing fatality or sickness.
: Us "mammals" prespire through the skin, but i repties dont...right?
: How much permeability, or impermeability does the skin of an iguana, or even a monitor have?
: Thanx.
for an iguana you eed to mist them witha clean spray bottle or soak them in the bathtub to loosen shedding skin also you can use mineral oil on their skin and spikes to loosen shedding skin that has problems coming off. mineral oil can be bought at a drugstore its used by people to help them go to the bathroom . people drink it thats how they take it and it has no deadly fumes or odor ive been using it on my iguana and no problems i would use mineral oil instead of aloe lotion
