I too have three cats. Two are outdoors quite often, and their attitude is quite predatory. They have never been in the Ig room ... but they know something tasty's in there!!! Often I find one or more cats sniffing at the door, or just sitting there looking nonchalant LOL!!! I suppose just hoping that *someone* will forget to close the door firmly. This winter I took a picture of Iggy looking out the window at the snow, (to me it is so sad). When the picture was developed I realized her dewlap was out, and I couldn't understand it. Until I noticed that directly on the other side of the window, sitting in the window box, was Gizmo - one of our cats. There they were, face to face. And it was no social visit! Now I wondered why I had never seen a cat in the window before, so I began looking out the front door at the window box, and sure enough, there would be one of the stupid cats .... and they'd run away as soon as they saw me. They knew!!!! So I have had to REALLY watch the window box.
I also have an indoor Persian cat, who SHOULD be named "Dufus". He is a sweetheart, but I'm afraid our poor Mr. Whiskers has no brain at all. He doesn't go outside because he CAN'T - he gets lost in the driveway. No kidding. He stands there and cries in a panic, and I have to literally go outside and pick him up to bring him in. He chases nothing except his shadow at night, and does not realize he is a cat at all. He sits backwards to anyone/thing else -- with his face IN the wall, couch, etc. He RUNS AWAY from cat toys - even catnip. So I figured I could teach him to get along with the herps. Until he discovered the spiney-tail in the dining room. Worse, he taught the others about the tasty morsel. I cannot move the cage anywhere else, so I have it turned into a corner of the room. The Ig likes it TG, as he loves privacy. But there are three cats who are now always trying ingenious ways of getting to it. They try to dig under, jump over, even sit on top and try to hang their faces in the front. And here's my little Ally, all 4 1/2", dewlapping at them!
Uh - so to end this too-long story, I would think *generally* and unequivical "N-O" to cats and Igs! Obviously you have done a stupendous job acclimatizing yours, I give you full kudos! Hhhhmmm, wanna come to MY house for a few months?????????
