Hey folks!
Long time, no write. I just got to missing you kingsnake folks and I haven't even been here for ages, so I just thought I'd stop to say "hi!" I see some new names that I don't recognise! Glad to see more folks added to the group! Quick update: Bones, who used to be the skinniest guy around, has now surpassed Einstein in weight and is 9 lbs, 6 ounces. Never thought I'd see the day. He is thriving despire being a tripod, and seems to be completely adjusted to live with 3 legs. He's more sociable these days than ever, and is starting to trust people other than myself. He still doesn't like Cree. Einstein and I have been having some differences lately, even though he is usually the friendliest one. It kind of seems like he and Shakai have a marriage of sorts going on, and he is suddenly *very* protective of her. He gets in my face and bobs and postures at me whenever I am handling Shakai. Shakai is currently gestating a clutch of eggs in her belly. She's in the lumpy phase but she hasn't really slowed down on her eating much, altho she has never entirely ceased eating while she was egging. This'll be her third clutch. I have to wonder if Einstein's extreme protectiveness was brought on by her egging. I've never really heard of male iguanas being perceptive to an egging female, or caring. Pretty interesting, huh? Anyone ever seen a male and female bond like that before? It's a first for me. Einstein didn't do this last year when Shakai egged. Nemo, the beardie, is still sort of half in.half out of brumation. He eats the iguana salad I give him, but he continues to turn his nose up at creepy-crawlies of any kind. Weird little guy. I think they all miss being out in the real sun during our winter season. They spend a lot of time staring out of the windows on sunny days. Poor babies. The UVB lights just don't seem to please them in the same way.

Well, I better get going, as Cree has some online classes and is constantly needing the computer for homework. I'm going to try desperately to make it to chat tomorrow night, so I hope to see some of you there!

Best,
Jamie
