I think the temp was right when she laid them in January, but the incoming sun started to heat the cage somewhat ( maybe a couple of degrees C. ) and together with the moist in the cage it increase the decomposing and hence increase the temp IN the material as well ( sometimes MUCH to MUCH!! I actually cookeed some of the plant's roots at one time. At that time the material was HOT from decomposing. You learn from your mistakes!)
