: Lizzy has whipped me, she did bite me once and often drops her dewlap at me. I try not to back off as i know she will think she has won the war so to speak. So the advise given to all the questions is great for me as well. I had Lizzy out on my shoulder saturday, we got the open mouth treatment this time, I had to laugh, know I will not when she is 5 feet. It just looked so cute, I mean Lizzy you are not quite 2 feet yet. I keep telling my husband that I will love when she is full grown, he shoots me a look like I am quite mad. Guess he does not get the whole iguana thing here. He does feed her and talk to her and will gentle stroke her head etc. when i am holding her. Think I can convert him?
: Anyway just want you all to know that i am also glad Harry's dad told me to come here, you are all very helpful.

hi its good your talking to people who have the same interests as you. my iguana was 4-6 inches when i got him i would handle him every day he became tame in a year then all of a sudden 6 months after that his personality started to change he started to head bob alot and was aggressive from october to febuary 2000 . i didnt know what i did wrong finally i bought a book on iguanas and read it and figured it out he was in breeding season . i was scarred to touch him cause i didnt know what he was thinking. now hes out of breeding season and his hormones are back to normal and so is his old personality. they will calm down as they get older especially if you handle him everyday taming takes time lots of time and patience. my ivy is gonna be 2 this june and if i didnt buy that book i was gonna trade him in because noboby told me anthing else on iguanas just basic stuff . theres a great book called green iguanas the ultimate owners manual by james hatfield you can buy it at www. herpsupplies.com it got everything in it good luck dont give up i will keep my ivy now i know what to expect
