cedar and pine are a general bad idea.

you can use aspen bedding or cypress mulch

but iguanas make SUCH A mess, the ideal substrate is shredded newspaper. it's cheap, when you have to change it everyday cause they've pooped or thrown their food everywhere, it doesn't matter...you get more delivered to your house everyday.

as for a climbing branch, any is ok really (well, obviously not from a pine tree). you need to either buy a branch at a store or get one from outside.

since it annoys me to pay money for what I can pick up outside, I get mine from the woods behind my house. if you do this, you need to either soak whatever wood you pick up in a bleach solution, and rinse it VERY well, or cook it in the oven at 150 or 200 degrees for about 2 hours.

this will kill any bugs that may be in the wood

good luck
