Here's another photo of Pepe The Little Beastie - (which will be a humorous misnomer when he's 5 1/2' long and weighs 12 pounds). What little research I've done on the I. iguana rhinolopha subspp. indicates there range is Mexico as well as some Carribean Islands, presumably in close proximity to Mexico. I'm looking into the subspp. issue some more - I think it's interesting that very few people make note of there being more than one spp. of Iguana iguana. I also find it interesting that the majority of photos depict Iguana iguana and not I. iguana rhinolopha. I wonder if this is because adults may lose their nasal horns and thus are not seen in the photos or if perhaps the majority of iguanas being sold are from further south in Central America and South America. Any thoughts?
