Since he's a rescued ig, he may carry endo/external parasites, and infect the female as well. Did you check for mites? Make sure you do!
The pros usually recommend a few days of quarantine to make sure anything won't be transmitted to other animals.
IF though, he's healthy as a horse, go ahead,
let him get laid! lol!
Congratulations on rescueing him, there are so many neglected igs out there...
Oh, and another thing: MONITOR THEM! the female may get ticked off that he's all the sudden in her space, or viceversa when he gets bossy. I've seen nasty injuries on females from large aggressive males.

: I rescued a large male from corr today. He is a little stressed from the plane ride so I set up a basking area in the guest room for him. Tonight I will introduce him to my female (Myyaa). I thought I would take them to a neutral place, like the living room and let them get to know each other. I hope they get along. Any sugestions? Thanks - Shelby, Myyaa & Ea ( I have not picked a new name yet)!
