: i like the name Isis!

: well, ya know by now i'm a motor-mouth, so here goes ... hehehehe

: yes, igs like to be able to hide out, even when they're full grown ... Isis might appreciate her hidey-spot more if you put it "up" ... remember igs in the wild live in trees ... they're much happier + feel safer the higher UP they can get ... that's why they prefer to sit on shoulders rather than laps ... tho they *love* sitting on heads the most! (no big deal unless like iZ, they decide your ears are specail ig foot holds ~ yeouch!)

: and, even tho they are excellent swimmers in the wild, they don't seem to realize it when they live with us ... it took iZ a *long* time to get over his fear of the tub, tho now he loves it ... try using even less water than you are now ... iZ didn't like the "lack of control" feeling that he got from floating until he got the hang of it ... also ... the sound of the tub faucet running scared him alot so i'd fix his bath + then get him ... yep, lukewarm water is good!

: if you put her in the tub everyday, she'll get used to using it for a bathroom (eventually) ... it's great as long as the thought doesn't totally disgust you or someone else in the household! (just rinse + disinfect with beach/water) ... it's a good way to encourage her to 'go' on a regular basis which is just as important as what she eats ... (we love a good poop story around here! hehehe)

: oh ~ speaking of poop ~ take a sample to the vet to be checked for parasites ... igs are like puupies/kittens in that they're 'born' with worms and need to be treated asap ...

: not everyone agrees on whether or not generally healthy igs need vitamin/calcium supplements but that's a whole 'nother subject ... they can definately taste them and do NOT like it ... if you decide to use them, use teeny amounts and try hiding it in the food ... i used to sprinkle iZ's vitamins on pieces of orange (his most favorite thing!) ... tho something juicy like kiwi will work too ... something that she really likes and only gets a small piece of once a day ...

: whew ~ i think i've rambled enough ... for now ...
: welcome again!
