: Are you suposed to leave the uvb light on 24 hours a day?
: I also needed to know if I should have a regular light on for 12 hours then swith to the Blue light for the next 12 hours. I am confused because someone told me that igs should only have 15 hours max of visible light.
you should have a basking heat bulb on during the day plus a flouresent tube light put them on a timer so they can go on in the morning when the sun comes up and go off when the sun goes down in the evening. then you can either use a red infared bulb , or a ceramic heater, or a nocturnal black bulb for the night i would also put ths on a diffrent timer so when your daylight goes off your night lite will come on automatically . its much easier trust me thats how my cage is set up . do yourself a favor and get a good bookor video on iguanas it will help you i have 3 books and 2 videos . the best book is green iguanas the ultimate owners manual its 3 inches thick its like the bible on iguanas you can buy it from www.herpsupplies.com or www.bigappleherp.com if you cant afford that book get a cheaper one but get a book
