regarding exercise ... no, he can't go *down* stairs by himself, he'd just slide nose first all the way down cuz his back legs/toes can't hold him ... i thought having him walk *up* the stairs even just once a day might be a good idea but it was so pitiful to watch him try that i just can't ... so for now, am just gonna make sure he goes up his little ramp at least once a day + call that good ... *laughing* can not picture putting him back at the bottom of it once he's gotten to the top! he'd take *another* chunk out of me if i tried that!!! plus ... even once up the 4' ramp wipes him out + earns me dirty looks ...

wish i had a pool or hot tub!!!! i'd even get in the hot tub with him (LOL @ Joan!) ... i got him over his fear of water when he was "small" (3.5'!) by taking him into the tub with me ... (shhhh! don't tell anyone i said that!) ...

ok ... guess i've decided to not worry too much about exercise for now ...

food/supplements + his doc

as much as i *love* Dr. M + i *do* think very highly of him, i don't think he's really up on the nutritional aspects of recuperating igs ... the best he had to offer me after surgery was "bird gruel" and "some sort of vitamin supplement" ... *sigh* ... i'm impressed with his surgical/diagnostic skills but think the ig-perts + ig-lovers here know more about nutrition ... (sorry Dr. M, but no one's perfect) ...

am not giving him calcium supplements ... historically, his calcium tends to run at the high end of normal range with just diet alone and he is still eating tons of collards ... would dearly love to get my paws on dandelions but the stores here don't have them this time of year ... (gonna try again next year to raise a huge planter of them ...)

have been using the Centrum in *very* tiny amounts ... same reason as Gina mentioned, the cal/phos/mag ration leaves alot to be desired ... gonna hit the baby vitamin aisle this wkend + see if i can find something with *just* vitamins ...

yeah, it's been dreary + gray here too + was hoping that was the reason for iZ's attitude ... but the 'poop symptoms' are returning, some of his shed is looking suspicious ... and ... this one's a 'mom thing', he just *looks* like he feels cruddy, he's got that sick baby look in his eyes ...

am holding off on the Baytril ... will stick to Amphojel once a day + then an extra protion of juicy fruit to combat the constipation from the Amphojel ... and pedialyte of course ...

poor iZ ... he was *not* pleased to see those danged oral syringes again last night! but i swear he understands i'm trying to help him feel better, he puts up with so much from me!

ok ~ time to warm up the tub for him ...

hugs + headbobs to ALL!
me + iZ
