In Reply to: buying greens at the grocery store.... posted by IG27 on February 24, 2000 at 08:54:41:
: I have the same issue as xt, I have to buy
large amounts, if I went to my grocery store and
broke up the already weighed greens they would shoot me, it is nice that you can do that, XT I have an idea for you I take my collards and my other greens cut them up put them in tupperwear and add water I find they last alot longer that way.... I do not like freezing my greens and such either.....makes em soggy and spazzy refuses to
eat them.
Head bobs to all

Hi, everyone-- Ziggi doing great, eating well! I noticed some posts how people say how
: Ig's can be expensive to feed, I know mine is small, but I still can't see it getting very
: much. I see a lot of people talking about waste? When I go in the store I get a bag, put a leaves
: of collard, mustard, and turnip greens in same bag, tell'm green, comes up to about 5-10 cents! I get a
: small handful of green beans, small squash, few sticks of asparagus, pear, apple, etc...! I have a lot of
: seperate bags w/ only small amount in them. Doesn't total that much, and it makes salad for the whole week with
: little waste! I use the local Food Lion, Wal-mart, Harris Teeter, they never say anything, always let me get what I
: need only! One time, I had such a small amount it wouldn't even weigh?? So cashier just keyed in 10 cents.
: Hope everybody is doing great, sorry hadn't been around been very busy! Take care!
: oh yeah, ziggi loves watching my 55G turtle aquarium next to his, keeps him excited seeing them swim around!
