Our female was spayed 2 yrs ago this summer. It didn't change her personality but it did save her life ;o)
She still exhibits breeding season behavior. As Hakan said, this isn't mentioned in books, etc. When she was in last her regular vet was out and the guy who saw her is supposed to be a *real* expert does talks on iguanas, etc. etc. I mentioned to him the thing about this behavior. He said it wasn't possible because she'd been spayed. *sigh* I'm going with all of us owners whose girls do indeed exhibit the behavior minus the equipment ;o) (Sorta reminds me of the drs. who say kids don't run temps when teething. Yeah, pfft, right)
The one thing about this operation is that you won't have the worry of all the things that can go wrong while gravid.
Hope she has a speedy recovery!
