Well that would depend on where you live and if you have access to the necessary food items.
If you can grow all your own greens and veggies then the Ig is cheaper.
If your living way up north canada like I do, in the winter my order or greens and veggies reach anywhere from 30.00-40.00 every 10-14 days in the winter cause they are shipped to me.
But I love my Ig's and Dragons so they get what it takes to feed them healthy food :)
Sumer is cheap for me cause I grow my own greens and veggies.
Bugs are raised easily so that wouldn't be an expensive food,
mice can be raised if you want the smell :) so that would be inexpensive food.

I'd almost have to say the monitor for me would be cheaper to feed. :)
