Igs and mirrors

I read somewhere that if you hang a mirror on the side of a male igs cage that's it will give him something to take his aggression out on? Is this true? When I bring a mirror near my ig, he starts bobing his head and rushes at it. He stays mad for a hour after I take
it away. I can't imagine how mad he would get if he
had to look at himself all day.
