as Debbie put it, 21 hr UVB is good.
but, it seems that blue light bothers lizards, that is why most people use redlight, since most animals cannot see it. the best thing to use though, is a ceramic heater, which warms up the animal, without over-heating the place.
12/day, 12/night is the correct amount of time.
if you buy a good book on ig care (which i highly recommend, and all owners should have at least one or two), they'll tell ya all the hints and tips. the Ultimate Iguana Book is excellent!
always provide any animal a 12/12 day/night shift.
would you like to have the lights on for every day of your life, at every hour? i didnt think so.
also, the bigger (and taller) the cage, the less over-heating happens.
take care, and tell us how you two are doing.
CI@O!
: Are you suposed to leave the uvb light on 24 hours a day?
: I also needed to know if I should have a regular light on for 12 hours then swith to the Blue light for the next 12 hours. I am confused because someone told me that igs should only have 15 hours max of visible light.
