your iguana is probably eating better now because previous owners werent feeding him right my iguana is 3ft and he eats twice aday sometimes he poops alot then there are days when he doesent poop until the next day. when he was in breeding season from october to febuary he seem to change hes eating habits if your iguana is eating fine and pooping fine dont worry he sounds healthy to me as for laying on the cool part mine does the same thing try to get this book called green iguana ultimate owners manual its excellent its 3 inches thick you can buy it at www.herpsupplies.com see ya
