rather than being reversed, it can be stopped from progressing, and, if the damages are not serous, "reversed".
some cases of MBD are more serious than others.
some are so bad, that the deformations on the animals are irreversable. But, some cases can be cured in time to prevent furhter serious deformartions (swollen jaws, limbs, crooked toes, humps, etc.).
a neglected ig suffering from MBD can have many "oddities" that may never heal, but if noticed in time, the bones may just be brittle and "soft", and intervention can help re-strengthen them. i saw an adopted iguana that was super healthy, but prior to being adopted suffered of MBD. she now has the lower jaw shorter thant the upper. yet, she's perfectly fine now.
calcium+D3 supplements along with correct lighting help stop MBD from progressing. a good visit to a vet wouldnt hurt either.
i'm sure others can give you a far better explanation, but this can already give you a picture of what can and cannot be done. i'm no expert, but i love to share my knowledge and experience with those who ask for help and tips.
any more questions, just post'em up!
